For replacement of plastic damper flanges and or levers, Lexan or Plexiglas is layed over felts, string groves are marked on Plexiglas. Plexiglas is screwed to a block at each end, the block is then screwed to the back of the action as seen in photo 3.. Sometimes 2 or 3 dampers in the bass cannot be located and must be removed before attaching jig. Jig is then removed, parts are replaced, then jig is re-installed for allignment of parts out of the piano. Plexiglas was trimmed as seen in photo 1 to allow for easy wire bending.
